Born Of Two Nations
is a moving, emotional expression of the insolvable internal conflict of being a half indigenous, half white person in the United States, the land plagued with identity crises, racial tension, poverty and wealth, rampant depression and anxiety. This progressive blend of metal, jazz, singer-songwriter, spoken word, traditional, funk, and many more, aims to express the unending discontent that arises from many dualities: indigenous and white, privileged and depressed, nihilism and activism.
In the first and only album so far, the songs cover a range of topics. Assimilate discusses the horrors of boarding schools in the US and Canada from the 1800's to now. Monotony discusses the sisyphean torture of the mundane repetition of an unfulfilling life and how it led to suicidal ideation. Your Name Is My Favorite Color: Separation discusses the closure of a deep love and relationship and the ability to heal and move forward.
May this music find you with your lightest heart in the brightest days and rejoice with you, as well as find compassion in the darkest most hopeless times you've never wished to experience.
